Time Flies When You're Having Fun

Written by Cassidy Castleman. Posted in Blog

Practical Cycle celebrated our very first birthday on Thursday, March 3, 2011 by expressing our gratitude to all of our customers who have supported our growth by spending their hard-earned money. We are also especially grateful to Granny Castleman and our landlords Bill and Dorothy Beale for believing in us, as well as Uncle Mike, Bill Leddy, Hanna Snider and Fletcher Cinder for all their hard work.

Happy Birthday Practical Cycle

In addition, we would like to thank Lorena Beightler, Mayor Kevin Johnson, Suzanne Hurt, Libby and David Bowles, Monique Smartkidd, Ryan Little, Peter Keyes, Vanessa Nelson, Kisha Morales, John Boyer, Kari Shipman, Marty Masek, Melody Stone, Sunny Alston, Chris Tafoya, Andrew and Edie Baker, Chris Morfas, Marc Christensen, Sue Terashini, Tom Barrett, Teresa Gonzales, Kathy Caitano, Andrea Lepore, Michelle Ulrich, John Lucas, Walt Seifert, Ed Cox, Rick and Erin Houston, Wayne Sosin, Don DiCostanza, Terry Sherry, Gary Silva, John Brondyke, Alex Coulomb, Casey Anderson, Eric Alexander, James West, Stephanie Flores, Bob Shallit, Cody Stark, Melissa Martinez, Liz Brenner, Cindy Stevens, The Rubber Band,The Cracker Family Circus, The West Nile Ramblers, The Harbor Ships, Sacramento City Dry Goods, Solarecity Electric, Artistic Imagery, Sacramento Hostel International, SCVB, Cal EPA, Air Resources Board, and CalSTRS for all their help and friendship.

We concluded the festivities today with a live performance by The West Nile Ramblers.  This Davis-based band combines influences from western swing, country, and rock into a style they call Western Garage.

Over the last year we have come a long way, but still we have so far to go.  We are looking forward to many more years of hard work towards fulfilling our mission to make cycling more practical for everyday people.
