This past weekend, Sacramento celebrated a major milestone- allowing cars back on K Street after 42 years of a failed pedestrian mall experiment. The corridor is now a complete street- with bike lanes, light rail, large sidewalks for pedestrians, and now cars too. There was a parade to mark the occasion including hundreds of vintage automobiles. Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson rode in a red 1966 Ferrari convertible, and directly behind him was Pizza Rock’s Yuba El Mundo from Practical Cycle with a mermaid from Dive Bar riding on the back!
